About this Course

Strength and Stability is a strength training program that focuses on functional movement, mobility, and increasing strength while promoting core and joint stability. This course is designed to take place over 4 weeks with participants completing two videos a week. Each video is about 45 minutes, and offers of reps or exercises while ensuring you get a full body workout with each video. This program is great for strength training beginners, those looking to re-enter fitness after some time off, or those looking to maintain their strength and stability at a lower intensity. Over the course of the video series, participants will build their strength and stability as well as an understanding of proper strength training form. 

*Required equipment: dumbbells

*Suggested equipment: multiple dumbbells, towel, mat, water bottle

About the Instructor

Hi everyone! My name is Amber Petruccy and I was raised in Harford County, Maryland. I attended college at Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania, graduating with a B.S. in Elementary Education in 2012. It was during my time at Etown that I attended a cardio-kickboxing class and my love for fitness was inspired.  

For five years after college, I lived in Delaware, Maryland, and Connecticut before settling in Staunton, Virginia almost 3 years ago. Despite the nomadic lifestyle, my dedication to fitness never wavered. After exploring cardio and weight training on my own, I spent almost 3 years training in Crossfit gyms. It was here that I fell in love with Olympic Weightlifting. After leaving Crossfit, I earned my USAW Level 1 certification and have coached weightlifting for almost 3 years. Currently, I am pursuing a Personal Training Certificate through NASM.

While maintaining a consistent fitness routine and continually working to increase my fitness education, I have been a classroom teacher for nine years and am very excited to combine my two big passions: teaching and fitness! I am looking forward to continuing my fitness education and being a member of the Phoenix team!
